When I hear the name Lip Lanier, my thoughts are immediately channeled retrospectively to the days of ,none other than, the Druid High School pep rallys where Mr.Lanier could be seen and heard firing up the crowd with chants in unisom of "Who you rooting for, D.H.S." as he moved up and down the wooden gym floors, light on his feet, with ease wearing a huge smile like a celebrity of some sort. He was the best cheerleader a school could ever have. Thanks for the memories.

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints (" Psalm 116:15). Farewell for now to our beloved Rev. Howard "Lip" Lanier, who brought sooo much joy to Tuscaloosa and the surrounding area for many years via radio broadcasting, preaching, and attendance at various activities (especially sports events). Until we all meet again, no one will be able to fill your corner rocking chair.

Lip was one of my favorite people. I'm sad that I lost contact with him for a number of years. That is a loss in my life because he was a valued friend. Lip was one of the funniest, most caring and enjoyable to be around person I've ever known. Lip will be missed but not forgotten. He is in a better life now. God Speed Lip!

My condolences to Lip's family and many friends. May God's love and peace give you strength at this time of loss.
